Five Strategies for Setting and Achieving Your Entrepreneurial Goals

As an entrepreneur, you already know how valuable it is to set goals to help you increase your revenue and break through to the next level of growth. And knowing effective goal-setting strategies is thus crucial to achieving success.

In this blog post, I’ll share five top strategies I use with my established service-based entrepreneurs that have helped them double their revenue year-over-year and expand from one location to many around the country.

When you’re done reading this article, you’ll gain the following:

1) Clarity & Reflection:

To grow your business, it’s important to reflect on what worked well in your business last year and build on it. Get clear and specific on what you want for your business in the coming year. But you don’t have to wait to do this yearly!

Why not supercharge this strategy by doing a weekly reflection exercise?

My private business coaching clients set time aside every week to complete the Business Growth Acceleration Worksheet  – a powerful reflection tool that I’ve created to help them gain clarity and focus, and identify the adjustments needed to ensure success.

By completing this worksheet, they increase their accountability and are able to make real-time tweaks to ensure better results!

2) Create SMART Goals

This acronym is likely something you’ve heard many times before.

The acronym stands for:

Specific

Measurable

Achievable

Realistic

Timely

Remember - goals keep you focused and moving forward in your business! When we set SMART goals, it becomes easier to measure your progress and also clearly understand when you have hit or missed a goal. In my work with entrepreneurs who are growing bigger teams, I’ve also found that SMART goals are extremely important to help employees to be more effective and strategic.

By setting SMART goals for you and your team, you’ll ensure that your business in running more efficiently and effectively.

Set SMART Goals to ensure that your business is running effectively.

3) Identify your blind spots

Blindspots include weaknesses, lack of skills/experience, or certain perspectives that may be holding you back in business. No matter what the blind spot, it’s important to get clear on those obstacles that are holding you back from achieving your goals, so you can come up with effective solutions to overcome those challenges.

4) Cultivate a Success Mindset

My clients are always amazed at just how often their mindsets come up in our business coaching calls. As an entrepreneur, it’s important that you’re always evaluating your perspective and determine if it’s helping or hindering you from achieving your business goals.

In my book The Up Level Project, I share exactly how our thoughts and beliefs impact our actions and the results we get - I even coined a fun formula called The Up Level Formula that readers get to implement to drastically improve their desired results!

5) Rewards to keep you motivated

Too often, high-achieving entrepreneurs push and power through without taking a moment to celebrate their achievements! When business owners do this, they are more likely to burn out and get discouraged or dissatisfied with their business.

When I work with my private clients, I help them to stop and appreciate all their hard work and accomplishments.

By intentionally celebrating milestones along the way to achieving your objectives, you’ll stay motivated and inspired to keep going. And when you keep going – you will succeed!
